TED Talk – Why I fell in love with monster prime numbers

As of 25 January 2013, the largest prime number was 2 to the power of 57,885,161 minus 1 as discovered by Dr Curtis Cooper. This number would be 17,425,170 digits long! Unbelievable!

I love the passion in which Adam speaks of prime numbers. I can’t believe how much maths can be explored whilst learning about prime numbers. I definitely would like to do more of this with my students.
